COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY USING

"DERMAROLLER"

 

This Dermaroller procedure is for fine wrinkles, acne scaring, body stretch marks, or skin changes associated with actinic damage or aging.  Pre-cancerous skin growths, also known as actinic keratoses or AKs, are found in areas of sun -damaged skin.  Actinic keratoses may represent the first sign of excessive sun damage.  They appear as reddish brown, rough growths on the skin. These areas can be sensitive and easily irritated by pressure from clothing or from sun exposure. Over 50% of sun damage occurs before the age of 18. Sun damage accumulates over the years, with actinic damage present in over 80% of fair -skinned individuals over the age of 60.

The "Collagen Induction Therapy" or CIT procedure used by the Dermaroller is a natural mechanism that does not include pain or down time. It is a European rejuvenation treatment that will lay down a new youthful collagen matrix.  It is especially useful for facial rejuvenation of wrinkles around the eyes and upper lip.

The Dermaroller CIT treatment creates healthy collagen by the mechanism’s own electrical potential that triggers collagen fibroblast production by the body. The Dermaroller increases the intra and extra cellular electrical potential. Wound healing is controlled in the body by the electrical signals. The body reacts to skin injury by increasing the electrical charge in the cells. The Dermaroller mechanism actually fools the skin into thinking there was an actual injury or wound. This creates a 1000% increase of new collagen and elastin fibers in the treated areas.

The Dermaroller can break up the unhealthy scar tissue in previously lasered patients. This is why the Dermaroller is so effective for scar revision.

Depending on the skin conditions and depth of the wrinkles, several treatments are required. Generally 3-4 treatments are recommended for best results. As collagen and elastin fibers need time to mature, the results of the previous treatment can be best seen after 6 weeks.
